Chapter 5.7 – A Turn for the Better

Zhou Yun Sheng was lying on the window watching, his mood was very subtle. When faced with himself, the young man was gentle and considerate, whispered softly, and was a complete gentleman. But in the face of others, he was cold and distant, indifferent, as if he was high above them. In the face of Xue Jing Yi, who he once pampered and spoiled very much, he suddenly became cold and ruthless, irritable and disgusted, as if he held a deep-seated grudge towards her.

Could this man have… schizophrenia? Thinking of this, Zhou Yun Sheng smacked his forehead as if to anoint his head with the purest cream*. This Xue Zi Xuan really was heavily ill.

[*T/N: 醍醐灌顶 (idiom) to be enlightened with perfect wisdom]

“Brother, I beg you, please stay. Without you, I get really scared, don’t you know? Maybe today, maybe tomorrow, I’m going to die. Don’t you love me? You won’t let me die without seeing me off, right? Brother, please stay with me for the last journey of my life. I don’t have much time left.”

Xue Jing Yi was breathless from crying so much. When did she ever think of wanting to die? If she could stay with her brother forever, how could she be willing to die? Even if she used all her strength, she would still try her best to survive. But she had to make it sound like her situation was utterly miserable. Don’t know when, but suddenly she found that she needed to use her life to exchange for a pitying glance from her brother. When did she become so lowly?

Huang Yi. All of this was caused by the arrival of Huang Yi. It would be so nice without him. Xue Jing Yi fell to her knees on the ground and hugged her brother’s legs. There were tears and snot all over her face, but in her heart, hatred was bubbling over.

Mother Xue and Father Xue were so distressed that they rushed over to help her, and they even ceaselessly scolded their treasured son.

Making an unreasonable scene, rolling about, kneeling, and pleading, these were all tricks that Zhou Yun Sheng had thought that he would have to use. Now, Xue Jing Yi was using all of them. This ethical drama was really exciting! Zhou Yun Sheng was pressed against the window looking at the scene with interest, but with a flustered and distressed expression on his face.

Translations by Vanilla Muse.

Xue Zi Xuan looked down at the crown of Xue Jing Yi’s pitch-black hair. There was a type of pleasure filling his heart, but also a haunting mix of sorrow and disgust. ‘You won’t let me die without seeing me off, right?’ She didn’t have to ask this question at all, because in the last life, that was exactly what he did. He didn’t see her one last time when she died, because death was not scary. What was scary was to live a life that was better off dead.

She took the lead and extirpated herself from the world, but he was left behind, struggling in the abyss of despair. Who was more pitiful? Who was more hateful? In fact, they were all pathetic and hateful.

He bent down, pried off her fingers, which were like iron clamps, rescued his legs from her grip, picked her up, placed her back on the wheelchair, and said indifferently, “Go back, don’t cause a disturbance anymore.” That careless tone, it was like placating some small cat or dog.

“Don’t want! I won’t let you go! I will die, I really will die!” Xue Jing Yi went crazy as her body twitched.

“Medicine, medicine, medicine. Quick, get medicine!” Xue Li Dan Ni also cried. Her tears ruined her delicate makeup, making her face unseemly.

Xue Rui grabbed his son and spoke malicious abuse. “Jing Yi is already like this, and you’re still leaving? Are you even human? Do you have a heart?” Then he recalled his son’s lack of emotions, and turned speechless in an instant. Grief bubbled within his gaze. His son really didn’t have a heart. They couldn’t blame him for this. They could only blame themselves for not being able to give him a healthy body.

Fu Bo and Xiao Deng went to the car where the medicine box was placed. They rummaged around for a while. The medicine bottle that was usually placed in the most conspicuous position was now nowhere to be found. They finally found the bottle after some trouble. When they opened the lid, a tremor of the hands caused the pills to spill across the ground.

At this moment, Zhou Yun Sheng felt that the situation was finally heated enough. He quickly unfastened his seat belt, pushed open the car door, and ran over. He stretched out his hands, but did not dare to touch the young girl who was in convulsions. Instead, he could only hold on to the young man’s thin waist and cried, “Brother, let’s not leave, okay? Jing Yi is so sick. I want to watch over her. I only have her, this one relative!”

No matter how miserably Xue Jing Yi cried, she could not arouse a speck of pity from Xue Zi Xuan. In contrast, the teenager’s reddened eyes filmed with tears was enough to make him feel like he was stabbed with a knife, and the tears hadn’t even rolled down his face yet. The pain was unbearable. He quickly held on to the youth and wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes with his fingertips. He was silent for a while before compromising, “Okay, we won’t leave. Don’t cry. She’ll be fine. She’ll get better.”

He really couldn’t go against that person within his arms. If he wanted to stay, then he could only stay with him. If he wanted to fly, then he could only put wings on him. If he could get a hold of the youth’s heart, then he was willing to give everything.

Upon hearing this, Fu Bo was relieved and his hands steadied. He took out a few pills and stuffed them into the mouth of the young lady. Xiao Deng quickly fed her water.

Xue Jing Yi, who was convulsing, heard this sentence vaguely. Her heart hurt so much it felt like it was being cut apart. Her tears, her entreaties, and even her life did not amount to a simple, single sentence from Huang Yi.

Chapter 5.6 – A Turn for the Better

With Xue Rui speaking such glib words, Zhou Yun Sheng had no more opening to push forward. He nodded bashfully, but in his heart he was howling unceasingly. Holding on tight to his fighting spirit, he went to go open the car door.

Xue Zi Xuan grabbed his wrist from behind, put his palm on top of his head, and softly reminded, “Be careful not to bump your head.” Finally, he placed the luggage in the trunk, got into the car from the other side, and started up the engine.

Xue Jing Yi, who had been silent up till now, said, “Brother, after you’re done sending Huang Yi off, hurry back to accompany me. I feel uncomfortable.”

The moment she woke up in the hospital, she thought she would see her brother’s anxious face. However, the bedside was full of people, but her brother was not there. He left. At a time when her life and death was unclear, he actually left. How could that be?

Between Huang Yi and herself, he chose Huang Yi. He took him to cut his hair and buy clothes while she was in a coma, and never once thought about how his beloved sister was lying in the hospital in a coma.

Xue Jing Yi felt so sad, as if she were about to die, but her heart didn’t respond because it had become numb with repeated pain. Fortunately, when she got home, she learned that her brother was going to send Huang Yi away, and she felt like she was alive again.

She asked Xiao Deng to push the wheelchair to the side of the car, craned her head, and peeped into the car through the window. Coquettishly, she said again, “Brother, come back soon, I’ll wait for you.” As for her twin brother, there was not even a word of goodbye.

Zhou Yun Sheng didn’t care about her indifferent attitude towards him. He knew that the key to whether he could stay or not was on Xue Jing Yi. Rubbing his sore knees, he asked innocently, “Is Brother returning after sending me down the mountain? I’m going to live alone outside?”

“How could that be possible? Xiao Zhou will also follow along.” Xue Rui waved a hand at the assistant.

Xiao Zhou rushed over and got into the back seat.

Xue Zi Xuan’s eyes were exceptionally cold, but he still suppressed the impatience within his heart. He gently stroked the boy’s cheeks, which still carried a trace of baby fat, and resolutely said, “I won’t let you live alone. Brother will stay with you.” After he finished speaking, he looked out the window, and the soft expression was replaced with indifference. “Xiao Zhou, get out of the car! Xue Jing Yi, go back inside and take care of your illness. We’re leaving.”

Xue Jing Yi felt that something was not right. She pressed down on the car window with her ten fingers, and said anxiously, “What do you mean? Brother, you’re not coming back? You want to live in the city with Huang Yi?”

After waiting for the frightened Xiao Zhou to get off the car, Xue Zi Xuan slowly rolled up the window. He did not answer, and miserly did not give them a direct look either. He steered the car towards the entrance.

Xue Jing Yi was afraid that her ten fingers would be caught in the window of the car, and she had to retract them. She clenched the door handle and cried, “Brother, don’t leave, don’t leave Jing Yi. Jing Yi feels uncomfortable. Jing Yi almost died today. Did you know?” Was tortured to death by you!

Her face was pale, her eyes were red, her hair was messed up by the night breeze, and she was crying and crying like a ghost, and she kept trying to open the car door by pulling on the handle.

Xue Rui and the others were taken aback by her madness. When they returned to their senses, the momentum of the car had carried her wheelchair forward. Her body was teetering, and she was about to fall on the gravel road. If you were towed on such a road for a distance, you would be killed or injured for sure.

Translations by Vanilla Muse.

Xue Rui and Xue Li Dan Ni gave chase. They knocked on the car window and loudly ordered their son to stop. Fu Bo stood in front of the car desperately, his expression angry and frightened.

Zhou Yun Sheng pressed his face against the window and watched Xue Jing Yi’s every move. Seeing this scene, he begged Xue Zi Xuan to stop.

Xue Zi Xuan had wanted to treat Xue Jing Yi like she was invisible, but now it seemed that this idea was just his wishful thinking. He could ignore Xue Jing Yi, but Xue Jing Yi would coil around him until death, and the anger inside would gradually churn and bubble, and the detest that he suppressed in his heart, and those fierce thoughts of loathing that he tried to forget, would erupt out one by one.

He was at the end of his patience. Abruptly, he pressed the steering wheel once, then tensely a second, and a third time. The sharp horn sounded through the night sky, and the pet dogs living nearby were barking one after another.

Xue Rui and the others were startled yet again, but Xue Jing Yi acted as if she did not hear. Her attention was only on her hands, and she would not let go of her brother’s car door even if she died. Her body was simply unwilling to watch him leave with Huang Yi. She knew that her thoughts were paranoid and abnormal, but she couldn’t change them, and didn’t want to change. She must hold on to her brother until the moment of death.

Xue Zi Xuan would never kill someone in front of the teenager, not even if his brain was muddled with hatred and resentment. He pushed his hair back irritably, and then gently, like water, touched the teenager’s tender white cheek. He said, “Wait for me in the car.”

He got off the car, went around the vehicle to Xue Jing Yi’s side, and tried to repress his emotions as he roared, “Xue Jing Yi, have you gone crazy!”

Chapter 5.5 – A Turn for the Better

Although the system became more merciful (due to lack of energy), the supreme norms set by the Lord God for him were not affected, and if anyone tried to disrupt the original balance of the world, they would be ruthlessly obliterated. And right now, Zhou Yun Sheng’s ideas violated its bottom line, and he was regarded as heresy.

Damn, what’s this all about?! Zhou Yun Sheng jolted like he was struck by lightning, and immediately jumped off the suitcase to pace in place. Xue Zi Xuan has made up his mind to take him away. As a puppet, a container that was only responsible for providing a fresh heart, he had no right to choose.

If making an unreasonable scene, rolling about, and pleading on his knees would make Xue Zi Xuan agree to let him stay here, then he would certainly do it without hesitation. But were these tricks useful? The answer was obviously no.

Translations by Vanilla Muse.

Since Xue Zi Xuan changed his face for him, then he must have already figured out a place to settle him. There could only be one Xue Jing Yi in the Xue manor. There was no so-called twin brother at all.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. He looked at the remaining time displayed by the system, and finally felt a life-threatening feeling. What did it mean by ‘no do, no die?’ This was exactly it.

As Zhou Yun Sheng was racking his brains, Xue Zi Xuan’s car drove up slowly. If he couldn’t get him to change his mind in half an hour, Zhou Yun Sheng knew that he had only one way to go. But instead of revealing his anxiety, he dragged the suitcase and walked as if nothing happened.

Just at this moment, another car entered the gate and blocked Xue Zi Xuan’s path. Holding Xue Jing Yi, Xue Rui got out of the car. Fu Bo and Xiao Deng took the folding wheelchair out of the trunk and quickly opened it. Xue Li Dan Ni followed next, holding a blanket in her hands.

“It’s so late already, where are you going?” Xue Rui asked in a deep voice.

Xue Li Dan Ni, who was laying a blanket on the wheelchair, also stopped. With a look of anger, she said, “Why are you wearing these clothes? Where did they come from? You also cut your hair. Who allowed you to do it?” She gnashed her teeth in rage, hate boiling over. She looked like she was ready to pounce on him in the next second and tear him to pieces.

Xue Rui gently placed their daughter on the wheelchair, patted his angry wife, and motioned for her to cover their daughter. Only then did he step forward to ask his son, who was getting out of his car, “You want to take him to live in the city?”

As soon as he saw the boy who had a huge change to his appearance, he knew that the boy could no longer stay at the Xue residence. If it weren’t because he didn’t have a choice back then, he also did not want to bring the boy back to the manor. It was natural that his son would send him away. It would be safer to find an apartment and keep him under house arrest than to keep him in the Xue manor. It never crossed his mind that his son would abandon his sister and rather hold on to a stranger, so he was not as angry as Xue Li Dan Ni, instead, he felt that his son had thought things through more thoroughly.

Xue Zi Xuan looked at his father who he hadn’t seen for a long time with complex eyes. The man now was young and strong, full of energy and spirit. He was at his most prideful and glorious period in life. It was also his cruelest and most callous time of life. He must be thinking that his son was going to take the youth and place him under house arrest elsewhere, which was why his attitude was so peaceful.

House arrest? How could that be possible? He would indeed hide the teen and put an end to others, but at the same time, he would put wings on the youth and let him fly freely, flying ever higher.

But these thoughts must not be known to his father and mother, because Xue Zi Xuan understood that he was just a pianist, and had nothing but a huge savings account. He needed connections, power, and the right to speak in the Xue family, and even the Xue family itself. Only in this way, could he protect his loved one and fight against the future full of variables.

Xue Yan’s strong intervention made him lose his love, but also made him understand that influence and wealth was power. He has long been unable to return to being that pianist who was born for music and died for music. In this life, he lived for the youth, and he would also die for him.

“Yes, I am taking him to the city. It is not convenient to live here.” He nodded slightly, his tone indifferent.

“Okay, find a safe place.” Xue Rui agreed without saying any more, and patted the young man affectionately.

Everything was just as Zhou Yun Sheng had suspected. They really were planning to find a safer place to house him. What should he do now? Kneel down to pester and beg?

The self-destruct procedure has been charged, and it will erupt at any time. The countdown on the dial was also ticking down fast. Zhou Yun Sheng glanced at his wrist secretly. His knees felt a bit sore*. He wanted to kneel.

[*T/N: ZYS is saying that thinking about how he would have to kneel for his life is making his knees feel phantom soreness.]

He forced himself to stand stably, and stammered, “Brother, didn’t you say that living in the city would make it convenient to take care of my sister who is hospitalized? Now that my sister is back, are we still leaving?”

Xue Zi Xuan didn’t answer. Xue Rui spoke, “Of course you have to go. You will start school in a few months. I helped you to contact a school. It is more convenient to live in the city and go to school. After Jing Yi’s health is better, she will also go live there. At that time, you will be together again. Look at Jing Yi right now, she’s simply exhausted, and can’t stand a noisy environment. Even if you stay, you can’t help with anything. Isn’t it better to go over early and adjust to the new surroundings? Later, at school, we will be counting on you to take care of Jing Yi.”

Chapter 5.4 – A Turn for the Better

Zhou Yun Sheng was shook by the young man’s words, which were similar to the words of a confession. It was not until the other party kissed his palm did he return to his senses. He secretly speculated: It turns out that Xue Zi Xuan not only wanted to deceive my heart, but also cheat my body. Is he gay? How come I can’t tell?

Translations by Vanilla Muse.

However, no matter what ideas the other party had in mind, it had no effect on him. As long as he leaves the Xue residence and finds a way to get rid of the system’s control, his will be like a bird flying in the vast sky; like a fish leaping in the broad ocean. As for this game of affection, who deceives who, who will win, and who will lose, the results were still unknown.

Thinking about it this way, he employed a hundred percent of his acting skills. He quickly withdrew his hands, and his white face was gradually stained with redness. His densely curled lashes shuttered half closed to cover the shyness in his eyes. His lips parted and closed, as if there were words he wanted to say, but was doing his utmost to repress his emotions. He looked utterly panicked and helpless. He turned his head away, his feet shifting, as if attempting to escape from here.

Xue Zi Xuan was no longer able to suppress his heart full of ardent love. He hugged the other person into his arms, his breath coming out rough. His heart thrummed and his blood boiled. The uncertainty after rebirth finally turned into real possession. He knew that the teenager might timidly retreat, but he didn’t want to wait any longer. He didn’t want to wait for another minute, another second. After decades of pain and despair, and the search for hundreds of years after that, his patience was already exhausted.

“Xiao Yi, Xiao Yi, Xiao Yi…” He called tirelessly to the boy in his arms, again and again. His cheek buried against the other’s neck, strongly taking in the other’s scent.

At first, Zhou Yun Sheng answered his calls, but then he became impatient. He responded with half-hearted ‘en’s and ‘ah’s. He tilted his head to the side, eyelids drooping, and secretly cursed at the man “crazy.”

It took Xue Zi Xuan ten minutes to calm down from his turbulent mood. In fact, ever since he woke up, when he saw the boy, he has been stepping on clouds, like a dream, and nothing felt solid. With one hand tightening around the youth’s slender waist, and one hand clinging to the back of the youth’s head, he firmly stamped a kiss on the side of the teen’s face. Only then did Xue Zi Xuan return to his cool-headed normal state.

“The words I just said, whether you understood them or not, you must remember that I will never hurt you, nor will I let anyone else hurt you.” Seeing the teenager averting his eyes with a flushed face, Xue Zi Xuan patted his head with a smile.

Zhou Yun Sheng felt disdain in his heart, but on his face he affected a grateful expression.

Xue Zi Xuan finished packing his luggage, went down to the second floor, and grabbed all the youth’s official documents. All the ambiguously gendered clothes were left in the closet at the Xue residence. Let Xue Jing Yi wear them. The men’s clothes that they bought today were not sent out yet, so he could have the salesperson change the delivery address to the apartment downtown.

“Okay, see if there’s anything you forgot to bring.” Xue Zi Xuan reminded softly before pulling the zipper of the suitcase shut.

“Can I bring this?” Zhou Yun Sheng pointed at the laptop on the desk. He didn’t have a single penny to his name, so he has to make plans for his life after leaving the Xue residence. Other people, at most, would use the computer to go online or to do work, but he could use it to create a huge amount of wealth unimaginable to others.

“Of course you can.” Xue Zi Xuan immediately put the laptop into the suitcase. Once everything was packed, the two went downstairs, hand in hand.

Seeing the young master dragging a suitcase with one hand and holding on to the country bumpkin with the other hand, Xiao Wang and Xiao Zhou were very surprised, and quickly asked where he was going.

Xue Zi Xuan did not answer, and he also did not let Xiao Wang drive the car. He took the car key to go get the car, and had the teenager wait by the door. It was already starry outside, the lights were brilliant, and occasionally there were rumbling insects in the grass, everything seemed so quiet and beautiful.
Translations are by www [dot] vmnovels [dot] com, if you’re reading this anywhere else, then it was stolen.
Zhou Yun Sheng sat on the suitcase. His mood was very bright and cheerful. After leaving the Xue residence, he must first find a way to get rid of the system, and then rack up some travel fees. After his life settles down, he could then plot how best to take revenge on the beasts of the Xue family. As for Xue Jin Yi, let her wait for death slowly.

A list of plans was gradually forming in his mind and the strong emotional fluctuations once again roused the system’s vigilance. It made a sharp hissing sound and said in a cold, unemotional voice, “It is detected that the host is trying to destroy the parallel world. The system will represent Lord God to implement obliteration procedures. Right now, the host has thirty minutes to repent. After thirty minutes, the procedure will launch promptly.” As the voice petered out, the dial began to count down.

Through the trace of mental force that he invaded the system with, Zhou Yun Sheng could perceive that it has started the self-destruct process. After thirty minutes, it will explode, anytime, anywhere. The system was bound to the soul of the host, and if it exploded, the host would also lose his soul. This time it was not a joke.

Chapter 5.3 – A Turn for the Better

A half-truth and half-lie was the hardest to break apart, because the liar would use the true part of the statement to hypnotize himself and convince himself of the entire statement’s validity. If he could fool even himself, then naturally he could fool others. Zhou Yun Sheng knew that what Xue Zi Xuan said was truth: the Xue family was not a good place, but words of wanting to protect him and the like were just talk. He could listen to it, but he definitely must not take it seriously.
Translations are by www [dot] vmnovels [dot] com, if you’re reading this anywhere else, then it was stolen.
Return a lie with a lie, and Zhou Yun Sheng couldn’t wait to leave the remote Xue house and go to the more developed urban area. If he could break through the defense of the villain system before the heart transfer operation, then it would be much easier to escape from the city than it would be to escape from the mountain.

As soon as he entertained this idea, the smartwatch began to issue a warning: “The host is detected trying to leave the mission site, and the host is asked to stay, otherwise level two punishment will be initiated, otherwise level two punishment will be initiated.”

Before, the system’s threats were always obliteration, or level ten punishments. Now the word “obliteration” was almost no longer mentioned, and the formation method also started from the lowest level. Such a kind system. Zhou Yun Sheng felt that it was quite strange and also quite interesting.

A person who was accustomed to the painful tearing of his soul has developed a strong immunity to physical pain for an hour or two. The so-called warning of the system was equivalent to a joke in Zhou Yun Sheng’s ears.

His mouth said: “I think it’s good here. Jing Yi is here, and I want to stay by her side.” However, his heart was eager to try.

The system did not immediately start punishment. It was still watching the developments.

Xue Zi Xuan knew that the youth was reluctant to leave Xue Jing Yi. It was because of her, that the youth followed him to the capital. He thought about it for a bit, and then comforted him, “Jing Yi may be staying in the hospital for a long time. This old house is remote and inaccessible. If we live in the city, we can visit her every day. I have an apartment near the hospital. It would only take twenty minutes for a round trip.”

Support the translator. Read this on vmnovels (dot) com

In actuality, Xue Jing Yi never stayed in the hospital for too long. The Xue manor’s medical equipment was more sophisticated and complete than the hospital. There were doctors and nurses on standby twenty-four hours a day. Being at the Xue manor was much more comfortable than staying at the hospital. But he absolutely would not tell the youth this truth. If he stayed here, then he would meet Xue Yan someday. That was his nightmare.

Zhou Yun Sheng considered it for a while, nodded and agreed, and kindly asked, “Would you like me to help?” He didn’t dare touch his things without the permission of the young master.

Speaking of this, he suddenly remembered that the young man’s behavior today was very abnormal. He had smoked, sat on the floor, held him without letting go, and even personally helped him wear his shoes. It was as if his mysophobia got better overnight, but was mysophobia really that easy to overcome?

Xue Zi Xuan’s heart felt fuzzy. How long has it been since he’s seen such a well-behaved and sensible boy. In retrospect, it’s been centuries, but at the same time it seemed like it was only just yesterday. It’s good to be able to see him again. It was so good.

“Help me fold these shirts.” He took out a few white shirts with a cheerful smile playing at the corner of his lips.

“I’ll wash my hands first.” Zhou Yun Sheng ran into the bathroom and pressed the liquid hand soap. His hands were just as the doctor had described, after rubbing in the ointment, the bruises quickly dissipated. Except for a slight sting, they looked normal.

Xue Zi Xuan’s smile was slightly suffocated. The youth’s cautious attitude sobered him in a split second. He almost forgot how the Xue Zi Xuan of this time had hurt the teenager, and how he left a deep shadow in the heart of the teenager, to the extent that he did not dare to call him Brother, eat at the same table as him, or even touch his belongings.

This well-behaved and sensible boy became detached and alienated. This awareness made Xue Zi Xuan fall from the ecstasy of rebirth to panicked hell in an instant. His complexion turned ashen as he looked at the closet of immutable white shirts. Suddenly, he felt disgusted.

Translations by Vanilla Muse.

After stabilizing his mind, he walked into the bathroom, grabbed the boy’s foamy hands and rubbed them gently. Then he rinsed them under the tap, and patted them dry with a towel.

“Washing your hands before and after meals is a good life habit, but it’s not necessary just to fold clothes. I do suffer from mysophobia, and I can’t stand the touch of others. This does not include you, Xiao Yi. To me, you are special and unique, one of a kind. No matter what you do, I can accept it calmly.” His every word and every sentence were spoken softly. In order to show the sincerity of his words, he placed both of the youth’s tender hands on his cheeks, and slowly rubbed them around a bit. His face revealed an infatuated and yearning expression.

No one knew what miracles these hands would create. They were once the treasure of the world, and his longing until his death. How many times had he held these hands tightly within his dreams, begging the boy for forgiveness with the humblest attitude?

Now, the body temperature transmitted from the delicate palms told him that those dreams have become a reality. Although he made some mistakes, there was still room for recovery. Countless gratefulness bubbled up from his heart. He looked down. On the palm of the hand, which still carried the lingering fragrance of liquid hand soap, he pressed a scalding and devout kiss.

Chapter 5.2 – A Turn for the Better

At this time, a car was heading directly towards them. The extremely rare license plate number made Xue Zi Xuan tremble all over. His originally pale complexion turned ashen in a flash. The youth was leaning against the window and watching the nighttime scenery outside. Xue Xi Xuan forcefully grabbed him and pressed him against his chest, using one hand to lightly cover his fair white cheek.

“What’s wrong?” Zhou Yun Sheng’s head was pressed against the young man’s hard chest, making it hard to breathe. He couldn’t help but struggle a bit.

“Don’t move.” Xue Zi Xuan muttered, and there was hidden fear in his voice. It was Xue Yan’s car. He was here too. No, he must not let him see the boy. In this life, he must hide the boy and not let anyone take him away.

As the car gradually approached, Xiao Wang also recognized the license plate number. From afar he beeped the car horn once, and the other party returned the honk once. Just this one beep caused Xue Zi Xuan to stop breathing. His heart was beating like mad. The thump, thump, thump sound was very clear in Zhou Yun Sheng’s ear.

“What happened to you?” He asked again, but the young man pressed his finger lightly against his lips.

“Don’t move, and don’t talk. Xiao Yi, don’t leave me, okay?” Xue Zi Xuan held the boy tightly, his thumb against those soft lips, and his palm cupping the youth’s delicate face. His hoarse voice sounded like it was choked with sobs. At this moment, he was so fearful, even more fearful than before. After becoming aware of this, he became even more frightened.

What was the most painful thing in the world? It wasn’t losing something before you’ve gotten it, but to suddenly lose it when you’ve just gotten ahold of it. That heart wrenching pain, he experienced it once before. In this life, he didn’t want to experience it again for the second time.

He knew that there was a film pasted on the car window, and that people couldn’t see in from outside, but he was still worried about it. As the other car got closer, his muscles tensed up even more. Fortunately, the other party only beeped their horn once and drove on. They did not stop to exchange greetings.

The taillights disappeared around the corner of the freeway ramp. Xue Zi Xuan looked back for a long time. Then he released the boy in his arms and helped him fix up the hair on his forehead.

Zhou Yun Sheng was distinctly aware that just then the young man’s nerves had reached the limit. His heartbeat was so rapid, his breathing was so shallow, and his voice was broken because of fear. What was he afraid of? He blocked his face with his hand. Was he worried that someone would see him?

Before he was acting so gentle and considerate, ultimately he still revealed his inner core? Why give others hope and then forcibly break that hope? For a moment, he had really wanted to believe in the goodwill of the young man, believe that he could extricate him from this trouble, but in the end he still let him down.

Since he was afraid of others recognizing him, then why bother to help him revamp his appearance? The brains of these artist types sure were different from ordinary people. Zhou Yun Sheng sneered sarcastically, and his precautions against the young man rose instead of decreasing.

Xue Zi Xuan did not know what the teenager was thinking. He half hugged the youth with relief after going through that nerve-racking moment*. Slowly, he released a long sigh of relief and ordered Xiao Wang to hurry.

[*T/N: 劫后余生 – “after the calamity, renewed life (idiom); new lease of life.” I think ‘calamity’ is an apt way to describe Xue Yun’s existence to Xue Zi Xuan. Haha.]

The car stopped at the fountain pool. He quickly led the youth out of the car, ignored Xiao Zhou who came out to greet him, and went straight upstairs.

“What happened to Young Master Xue*? His expression was very ugly. Was the examination results not good?” Xiao Zhou was full of doubts.

[*T/N: He calls XZX 薛少, which is less formal than 薛小爷. In Japanese it would be like calling him “bocchan” instead of “bocchama.” It could be that he feels their psychological distance is closer than normal master and servant, or his personality is just more casual.]

“There was no problem with the examination results. I don’t know why he became like this. Maybe he was over stimulated. The young miss is still lying in the hospital. He just took a look and left. He also took the little country bumpkin* to cut his hair and buy clothes. It’s really abnormal.” Xiao Wang scratched his head, suggesting that there may be something mentally wrong with their employer.

[*T/N: 小土包 – literally “small earth bun”]

“I didn’t even notice until you mentioned it. Young Master Xue dressing the little country bumpkin up like this, did he ask Mister Xue first? If some people nearby sees and rises suspicions, it will cause Mister Xue big trouble.” After all, this was murder. How could Xiao Zhou not be nervous? It should be known that of the nearby residents, there were several people who had a competitive relationship with Xue Rui. They would spy on every movement within the Xue manor. Suddenly a teenager who looked like Xue Jing Yi appeared, how could there not be suspicions?

“Mister Xue still doesn’t know. There will be trouble at night.” Xiao Wang shook his head and sighed.

Xue Zi Xuan took the boy to his room. He locked the door and closed the curtains shut tight. Then he opened the wall lamp and pulled out a huge suitcase from under the bed.

“What are you doing?” Zhou Yun Sheng cocked his head and watched the young man.

Xue Zi Xuan opened the closet and picked out clothes, putting them one by one into the suitcase. He said, “Packing up and moving out. You’re coming with me.” After bumping into Xue Yan’s car, he realized that living here was extremely dangerous.

“Why do you suddenly want to move away?” Zhou Yun Sheng acted ignorant, but in fact he was very clear on the matter. He knew that this appearance of his definitely could not be seen by others. It was better to keep him under house arrest outside of the manor, wait until it was time for Xue Jing Yi to have her operation, and then directly bring him to the hospital. No wonder this person was so gentle and considerate to him. It was so that he wouldn’t sink into an emotionally negative state after leaving Xue Jing Yi’s side.

Because I want to hide you away, and prevent certain people from seeing you. There was no way Xue Zi Xuan could say this line to the teenager, so he just walked over and cupped his face with both hands. Cautiously, he said, “Xiao Yi, I want to protect you, so I want to take you away. Believe me, this is not a good place.” No one in the Xue family is a good person, including me. He did not finish saying this thought out loud, and continued to organize clothes and daily necessities.

Chapter 5.1 – A Turn for the Better

Zhou Yun Sheng was sitting in the fitting room, staring at the smartwatch on his wrist. His first-level punishment procedure had just ended, and the countdown on the smartwatch had jumped from 00:00:01 to 00:00:00, that was to say, an hour of severe pain, no more no less.

[T/N: smartwatch- 智脑, what the villain system ZYS has resides in. Means smart brain literally but can refer to almost all futuristic technological devices, a bit like AI?]

However, this was just a facade that the system wanted him to see. In reality, Zhou Yun Sheng’s IQ was unbelievably high, his brain’s calculating power was definitely not lower than that of the best calculator, even if he wasn’t especially paying attention, he could also tell when the hour of punishment should end.

Two seconds less, this punishment was two seconds less, and this seemingly small error hid a huge problem. Since the last time in Xiao Liu Village, after the smartwatch crashed once, he had experienced two first-level punishments. The first time was one second shorter, at that time, he had only thought that it was the system being kind, and did not take it to heart, but this time it was two seconds less.

What did this mean? Why had the punishments become so lenient, and the time shortened without any reason? Could it be said that the system really cut off contact with the Lord God? All the energy required to operate the system came directly from the Lord God’s gift after returning to the Lord God’s space after each mission. If it knew that it could never go back, it would definitely cut down on the energy used so that it could survive.

That was to say, its control over the host would weaken day by day. After this mission, he may no longer need to go back to the cage-like Lord God space, or need to complete these horrible tasks, but the price was that he could never return to the real world, and could only stay in this virtual space for the rest of his life.

Is it like this? Zhou Yun Sheng thought about many possibilities, but the hope in his heart made him choose the most beautiful one. What if he couldn’t return to the real world? There was nothing he cared about there, but here he had a body, a soul, his body could also feel pain. His soul would be free and released, was there a better future than this?

No! So whether I go back or not, it really doesn’t matter. Zhou Yun Sheng stared at the working smartwatch and smiled. In the next few days, he would get along well with the smartwatch, and see what exactly was wrong with it.

At the same time, the spiritual power he had secretly entered into the system had broken through the second layer of the defense system. If it entered the third layer, even if there were no problems with the system and the Lord God, he completely believed that getting away from both of them would just be a matter of time.

After sweeping away his overly thick bangs on his forehead from his face, Zhou Yun Sheng leaned against the wall of the fitting room and took a long breath, then took off the new jeans hanging on the clothes rack and slowly wore them.

Xue Zi Xuan’s sudden enthusiasm was also a big reason that he was bothered. He even cut his hair short and bought him a bunch of men’s clothes, like he was not afraid that after he changed his appearance and returned to the Xue family’s old house, that he would be seen by those nearby? You must know that the people who lived nearby were not ordinary people, and their minds had many twist and turns. And due to business interests and competition, the people secretly observing the Xue family were probably not few.

His sudden appearance and sudden disappearance would definitely attract the attention of those interested. If they thought deeply about it, or simply investigated clearly, the Xue family would be in a lot of trouble. Murder was not a trivial matter, if it was exposed it was enough to ruin the Xue family.

Whatever, if Xue Zi Xuan himself was not even worried, then Zhou Yun Sheng as the victim was even more pleased to see such a thing happen. Naturally, the more trouble the Xue family had, the better it was.

After thinking carefully, he changed his clothes and pushed the door open. The salespeople surrounded him with compliments, what kind of flower-like youth, xiao xian rou*, beauty that withstands time, all the cringey phrases that one could think of were all said, causing all his goosebumps to come out.

[*T/N: what kind of flower-like youth, xiao xian rou, beauty that withstands time- 什么花儿一般的少年,小鲜肉,美颜盛世, “small meat, beauty, and prosperity, how to come to him, called him chicken skin picked up” Google translate thumbs up… so xiao xian rou (小鲜肉) literally means fresh meat but it refers to a handsome youth, while 美颜盛世 means a face which is more beautiful than the world basically just very very very very pretty/handsome.]

“Please pack up all the clothes that were tried on, thank you.” Xue Zi Xuan’s face was a little black, but he still handed over his black credit card politely. After that, he borrowed a pair of scissors from another salesperson and cut the tags on the clothes Huang Yi was wearing.

“You can continue wearing this, there’s no need to take it off, it looks very good.” He didn’t say much, but his tone was very sincere, his dark eyes were full of smiles and gentleness, and his appearance very charming.

Zhou Yun Sheng quickly glanced at him and nodded.

After paying, Xue Zi Xuan carried a huge shopping bag in his left hand, and held the boy’s hand in his right, as he walked out of the mall, Xiao Wang also carrying a few big bags as he followed behind.

The Xue family didn’t want more people to know of their crime of murdering an innocent boy, so they dismissed the gardeners, servants, cooks, workers, etc., leaving only the loyal Fu Bo and a few other confidants, exactly for this long-awaited heart-changing operation.

The nurse Xiao Deng had cooked some porridge and sent it to the hospital, leaving only the assistant Xiao Zhou at home. A gigantic villa, with only the lights in the living room turned on and the rest of the rooms dark, compared to the brightly-lit residences nearby, it looked more and more cold and lonely.

The car turned onto the gravel path, and from far away, Xue Zi Xuan saw the old house of his memories, and his whole person could not help but drown in dark memories. There, he understood for the first time that the world was colored, understood what it was like to be in love, and realized that other than music, there was something else in this world that could make him love so passionately.

As long as he closed his eyes, the sharp knife that Xue Jing Yi tightly held onto seemed to be just in front of him, and the rich smell of blood seemed to waft over. Xue Zi Xuan immediately shook his head, and shook the unbearable memory out of his mind.

Chapter 4.5 – Mental Disorder

He was simply a walking hormone, a deadly attraction for a pure bottom like Zhou Yun Sheng.

Yes, deadly attraction. If he was enchanted by him, that will be when he muddle-headedly sends his heart over as a gift. Zhou Yun Sheng seemed shy on the surface, but his heart was as wary as it could be.

Xue Zi Xuan looked very happy, and hung on his lips were constant bright smiles, even his ever dark eyes became slightly brighter.

Zhou Yun Sheng footsteps paused for a second, and then continued to move forward as if nothing happened. Changing the world’s destiny would cause the complete collapse of this world, even more severely than killing the son of destiny, but the system had only given the lowest first level of punishment, which has never happened before.

Zhou Yun Sheng was now 100% certain that there was a problem with the system, or even better, the Lord God had a problem. Could it be that the connection between the Lord God and the system was cut off? Does this mean that he had the opportunity to escape their control?

This notion made Zhou Yun Sheng’s heart heat up, and the pain in his body was greatly alleviated. When he and Xue Zi Xuan returned to the emergency department, Xue Jing Yi was out of danger and had been placed in the VIP room on the top floor.

Xue Li Dan Ni had been mentally tortured by her sick daughter and suddenly rebellious son to the point of exhaustion. She didn’t even have the strength to turn her head when she heard the door opening. In order to ease the atmosphere, Xiao Wang whispered: “Madame, the young master went to get a brain CT, the doctor said that there is no problem.”

“Really? Let me see.” Xue Li Dan Ni still couldn’t stop worrying about her son; she took the picture of the CT from Xiao Wang and studied it carefully. Fu Bo also came over and put on reading glasses to study the picture. In reality, they couldn’t understand it at all, but they still did it for peace of mind.

Zhou Yun Sheng walked over to the hospital bed and stared at Xue Jing Yi’s sleeping face, quietly asking, “How is she?”

Zhou Yun Sheng couldn’t believe that there was nothing wrong with Xue Zi Xuan, he had really wanted to pull that guy into the mental health department when they passed by but had controlled himself. If he went crazy then he went crazy, he would play along till the end, but if Xue Zi Xuan really treated him sincerely, and was not willing to let him die, what will the ending be like? It would surely be very interesting!

“Detecting that the host is trying to change the plot of the world, starting the first-level punishment procedure, starting the first-level penalty procedure.” The system’s cold metal voice sounded in his mind, followed by the bone tearing pain.

Xue Zi Xuan walked over and looked at Xue Jing Yi with complicated eyes.

“Everything is alright now, she can leave the hospital after a few days of rest, the cure for this disease is mainly dependent on rest and recuperation, as long as she doesn’t get tired or agitated, she can live a long life.” How could Fu Bo let Huang Yi know the real condition of the young miss, and just randomly said a lie.

“Really? Then I am relieved, Auntie Xue, you and Fu Bo can go back first, I will watch over mei mei*,” he volunteered.

[*T/N: mei mei – chinese for younger sister]

Xue Zi Xuan’s eyes flashed, but in the end he did not refuse. If Huang Yi wanted to watch over Xue Jing Yi then so be it, as long as he was relieved it was fine, he would find a way to separate the two in the future.

Xue Li Dan Ni and Fu Bo however were not appreciative of his leniency, and patiently coaxed him into going back, even signaling to Xiao Wang to drag him away. Xiao Wang had just reached out his hand when he was stopped by the young master. The two men got out of the room in a half hug half carry* state and entangled** for awhile in the corridor, but in the end, the youth was younger and weaker, and was carried off by the young master.

[*T/N: half hug half carry – 半搂半抱 I think that XZX is trying to carry ZYS who is struggling so it kind of ends up in a hug]

[**T/N: entangled – 纠缠 in a fight kind of way]

Xue Li Dan Ni only wanted Huang Yi to leave, but she did not know that her son would also leave, not caring about his unconscious sister, and immediately trembled with anger.

“Zi Xuan, you stay behind, if your sister wakes up and can’t see you, she will be sad.” She chased after them shouting, causing the passing nurse to raise her index finger and make a shushing gesture.

Xue Zi Xuan blatantly ignored her, and just waved his left hand, but it was the youth instead who frequently turned back and looked reluctant to leave. Xue Li Dan Ni watched as the two of them walked into the elevator and went down to the first floor, then went back to the ward and collapsed on a chair.

“Why is he suddenly so good to Huang Yi?! Overly good! Doesn’t he know that Huang Yi is Jing Yi’s heart donor?” Xue Li Dan Ni said, exhausted.

“Perhaps the young master is just bored and is looking for some fun,” Fu Bo guessed.

“I really hope so.” Xue Li Dan Ni agreed, but her heart still felt faintly unsettled.

Xue Zi Xuan took the boy to the car park, and Xiao Wang quickly followed him. After Xiao Wang started the engine, Xue Zi Xuan ordered, “Go to the nearby shopping mall.”

“What do you want to buy, young master? It is ok to just call someone to send it over.” Xiao Wang said as he slowly drove the car out of the hospital.

“To buy a few clothes for Xiao Yi.” He tugged at the youth’s neither female nor male casual clothes, with ridicule in his eyes. In this lifetime, his parents still did not change their strategy, intending to turn the youth into Xue Jing Yi’s shadow. But they could have never imagined, in the end, it was Xue Jing Yi who became the youth’s shadow. He was so outstanding and unique. There would definitely be a day where he would bloom with dazzling brilliance.

When Xue Jing Yi stood beside him, she could only become his foil, so she would be so jealous that she went crazy, so envious that she couldn’t wait to kill him. The bloody memories once again resurfaced in his mind. It seemed that every time he thought of Xue Jing Yi, it would arouse the darkness hidden deep in his heart. So he had to avoid meeting her, otherwise he was worried that he would take the chance to kill her before she could hurt the youth.

Just now, when he looked at Xue Jing Yi’s unconscious face, he almost reached out and turned off her ventilator. This thought was not unexpected, because he had never had a sense of right and wrong nor moral compass, killing a person was equivalent to squashing an ant for him, but he did not want the teenager to see his cruel and ruthless side, so he stopped himself.

In this life, as long as Xue Jing Yi stayed in her place and was no longer hostile to the youth, he would not touch her. The scar on his hand was gone, but the sin in his heart was still there. For his beloved youth, he was willing to become a better person, even if it was just on the outside.

Zhou Yun Sheng did not know that in those few short minutes, what kind of terrible mental journey Xue Zi Xuan had experienced. He pretended to be flattered and waved his hand in rejection, “No need, Auntie Xue has already bought me a lot of clothes, so much that even if I wear one a day it wouldn’t repeat.”

“Those clothes are not suitable for boys, look at all the boys on the street, who would wear clothes like yours, and keep their hair at such a length, it looks ugly.” Xue Zi Xuan refuted the youth. He couldn’t forget the scene at the banquet where the youth wore the pure white dress and was touched all over by Xue Yan. Even if it was a lifetime ago, it was still enough to make his eyes go red with jealousy every time he remembered it.

That exposing women’s dress, must never appear in the youth’s closet this lifetime, his hair must also be cut short, making sure that people could see that he was a boy at first glance. In this way, there should be a lot less people who would deliberately approach him, and Xue Yan would not fall in love with a boy at first sight.

With this secret idea, Xue Zi Xuan first took the youth to the hairdresser to cut his hair, and then selected a whole ton of men’s clothing in various styles and designs. Xiao Wang followed behind him carrying the shopping bags, until he could no longer lift all the small and big bags, and could only ask the sales clerk to send it to the Xue house.

“Young Master, if you dress Huang Yi like this and someone sees and asks about it, it won’t be easy for us to explain.” Taking Huang Yi’s heart was considered murder, dressing the victim so conspicuously, wasn’t it just asking for trouble? Xiao Wang constantly felt uneasy, so when the teenager went in the changing room to try on the clothes, he softly reminded the young master.

Xue Zi Xuan’s cold line of sight was fixed onto Xiao Wang’s fragile throat, warning deeply, “Forget my original purpose for bringing back Xiao Yi. In the future, he is my brother, my family.” And will be my lover, my sweetheart, and my precious treasure.

Xiao Wang touched his suddenly cold neck and dryly asked, “What about the lady?”

“How would I know?” Xue Zi Xuan suddenly laughed, as if this question was very interesting. Why did everyone think that Xiao Yi should give his heart to Xue Jing Yi? (T/N: Exactly. Coz they are rich? Who knows?) Was it because he owed Xue Jing Yi? What a joke!

After saying a few short lines, Xue Zi Xuan stayed silent, no longer paying attention about Xiao Wang. In fact, apart from his beloved youth, he did not want to pay attention to anyone, nor did he care about anyone.

Chapter 4.4 – Mental Disorder

He wasn’t the only one who suspected Xue Zi Xuan had been switched. Xiao Wang and Fu Bo also followed them to the stairway. Xiao Wang had a lighter in his hand, but he didn’t know if he should help the young master light the cigarette or not. The madam sent Fu Bo to inquired as to when her son had learned to smoke. He fell into a coma; he didn’t get amnesia, so how come the whole person changed?

The stairway was very narrow. Xue Zi Xuan pulled the boy to the innermost side and laid his coat on the steps to let him sit on it, but he blocked the door as if he was afraid that the boy would run when he smoked. Once he determined that the teenager could not leave him, he looked towards the hesitating Xiao Wang and said, “Fire.”

Xiao Wang immediately brought the lighter over. He saw the young master hold the cigarette in one hand while blocking the wind with the other hand. Once the cigarette lit up, he took a deep draw from the stick and then he spewed a thick plume of smoke from his nose. The action was very skillful, not at all like a rookie who had just learned to smoke, but an old smoker. Xiao Wang couldn’t help but wonder.

Fu Bo couldn’t hold back his words and whispered, “Young Master, when did you learn to smoke? If you smoke too much, it’s not good for your health. It’s better to stop.”

Xue Zi Xuan was silent and apparently regarded Fu bo as a transparent person. When did he learn to smoke? He couldn’t remember it. In the endless desperation, in the pain and the waiting for the invisible end, only the burn of smoke invading his brain and throat could bring him a moment of peace.

When the night was quiet and his thoughts afflicted him, he even thought of ending himself with alcohol and drugs. But he was afraid of leaving the world first, afraid that he would miss his teenager even in hell, so he kept his body healthy.

Smoking was his only respite. In the smog he could slowly recall the past, savoring the time when his heart was moved by the youth, and repeatedly feeling the happiness that he once had. He was all alone. Except for his memories he had nothing.

The feeling of suffocation rushed in and interrupted Xue Zi Xuan’s thoughts. He realized that the him who had struggled in despair had been reborn again. In this world he had the opportunity to save everything. He laughed lowly and tapped the ash off the cigarette with his finger. He sat down next to the teenager, held his thin shoulders, and shook him intimately twice.

Sitting on the ground, smoking, with a tired and happy expression on his face; from wealthy young master to migrant worker, the style image changed too fast, making Zhou Yun Sheng rethink his preconceptions. But don’t know why, this present Xue Zi Xuan was more pleasing to the eye. Of course, this was only compared with the other members of the Xue family. He naturally would not forget for what purpose they had brought him to the capital.

Fu Bo clutched his chest and couldn’t speak for a long time. He was obviously angry. When had he ever seen the young master smoke? When had he ever seen him sit on the ground and not care about his appearance? He also took off his clothes, let Huang Yi use it as a mat, and didn’t even mind it getting dirty. He really was bewitched. He also knew that the young master suffered from an emotional disorder, so no matter how angry you get or how much you censure him, if he didn’t want to pay attention to you he would not look at you at all.

Right now, no matter how much he talked, it was useless. No one could control him. Fu Bo could only comfort himself by thinking of it as a late rebellious period. He signaled Xiao Wang with a look, instructing him to keep an eye on the two young men, and then he went back in to accompany the madam.

“Do you want one?” Xiao Wang wasn’t like Fu Bo. He put a cigarette in his mouth and offered the box to the teenager.

Zhou Yun Sheng wasn’t disgusted with others smoking, but he himself never touched a cigarette. He wanted to wave his hand and refuse, but Xue Zi Xuan spoke first in a quiet voice, “Xiao Yi never smokes. Don’t teach him bad stuff.” But he was very good at rolling and cutting cigars. He had deliberately learned it for Xue Yu.

Recalling his past life, Xue Zi Xuan’s mood once again plummeted into a trough. He stood up, walked onto the step behind the boy, and then he sat down with his legs spread out on either side of the youth. He encased the teenager in the circle of his arms. Only then did his cold expression ease up. He took a harsh drag of the cigarette and then blew out the smoke, as if he could release all the unbearable memories from the bottom of his heart.

Zhou Yun Sheng’s face was full of black lines and he struggled twice but was held tighter. He could only choose to compromise. He felt that after Xue Zi Xuan awakened from his coma, he not only had emotional deficiency, but also a craving for skinship, as if he would die if he did not hold onto the youth for one second. This was no exaggeration. His every move was extremely powerful and unyielding, just like he wanted to keep the youth by his side at all times.

Enduring and enduring, but he really couldn’t restrain himself anymore. He put forth a conscience suggestion. “Mr. Xue, do you want to get a brain CT?” If Xue Zi Xuan could go to the neurology department to get himself looked at that would be even better.

“Call me ge ge (big brother),” Xue Zi Xuan whispered in his ear. The hot breath with a strong smell of smoke blew against Zhou Yun Sheng’s reddening ear.

He rubbed his ear and stammered, “Didn’t you tell me to call you Mr. Xue?”

“The Xue Zi Xuan before was an idiot. You don’t have to heed him. Call me brother. Call me brother and I will go get a CT.” Xue Zi Xuan softly tempted.

To Zhou Yun Sheng, it didn’t matter what he called the other person. He had never placed any member of the Xue family in his heart. He pretended to be bashful and hesitated for a moment, and finally called him brother in a soft voice.

Xue Zi Xuan smiled happily. The thick haze that seemed to hover before his eyes was scattered. He smothered out the cigarette, gathered the youth towards him, and headed out. He left the dirty coat on the ground with no intention of taking it back.

Xiao Wang was stumped for a moment and then he gave chase, asking, “Young Master, you’re really going to get a CT?” No matter how much the madam and the young miss tried to persuade him it was not effective, but now the little earthen bun called him brother once and the matter was done? How much did the young master like the youth? Was he teasing the other?

Xue Zi Xuan did not answer. He pushed pass the crowd in the elevator and held the boy in a corner, using his two arms to block contact between the boy and other strangers. He looked down at the cute hair whorl on the boy’s head and asked, “Is Xiao Yi worried about me?”

Zhou Yun Sheng gave an unpronounced “en” sound. There were many people in the elevator. It was really crowded. The young man supported him with an independent space; except for the other party’s hot breath there was no other obstruction. But precisely because of this breath, which also carried the scent of cologne, it made him even more uncomfortable. Zhou Yun Sheng had to admit that the other party’s youthful and beautiful appearance coupled with the slender figure and the noble and refined temperament was very charming. Add on this sudden change, a gentle yet strong attitude, it was enough to make anyone addicted to him.
